Control Your Hypertension without Using Medication

Hypertension is the result of high pressure in the arteries. As fat builds inside the arteries, the blood pressure will increase due to the small opening to enable blood flow. For patients who are having this disease, their doctors will prescribe drugs to administer their blood pressure. Although this disease is hereditary, still, there are natural ways to control, or better, prevent this disease without exploiting drugs.

Exercising has known to fight off cardiovascular diseases, as well as high blood pressure. People are too lazy to move their own butt from the couch, let alone completing a whole exercise routine. If you are one of these people, just replace a workout with something more enjoyable, like, a walk on the sandy beaches with your loved ones for at least an hour. Or go walk your dog in the park. It might be the exact chance for singles out there to get to know each other apart from fighting off hypertension. In the cases of desperate housewives or soccer moms, who must barely get the time for park jogs, they can have their own workout inside their own home. By vacuuming the carpets or mopping the floor, domestic chores are a good form of workout for them, aside from warding off hypertension without the help of prescription drugs.

Take low off the sodium, guys. Salt has known to increase hypertension. Therefore, low intake of salt everyday can help you control your blood pressure. Hands off the chips and McD! Fast food and potato chips have alarmingly high content of sodium, so get as far away from these as possible. Opt for a healthier diet instead. For example, cut off the amount of red meat and increase the amount of vegetables that you eat. Hey, eating veggies doesn’t make you a rabbit! There are various ways to cook vegetables, and you may be surprised on how tasty these veggies can be. Hello, celebrities eat lots and lots of vegetables to help them maintain their fabulous figure. Just pretend that you are Lindsay Lohan and swallow those greens.

Finally, watch the amount of alcohol you are consuming. It is okay to have a drink once in a while, but excessive drinking is not helping to reduce hypertension at all. Other than turning into an alcoholic, there is really not much of a gain there. Aside from drinking, smoking is also prohibited to those with hypertension. Do not smoke if you wish to lower your blood pressure. Besides, smoking can contribute to heart diseases and lung cancer, thus adding them to your “these-sickness-that-I-have” list.

These are some ways that can help you lower your hypertension problem without the help of medication. Your meds might be helpful, but why would you be popping pills like an addict when there are better ways to reduce and prevent hypertension at all?
